The Tramex Concrete Moisture Encounter X5-CMEX5 is a digital multi-mode moisture meter for concrete, designed to meet the needs of professionals in flooring, water damage restoration, inspection, surveying, and indoor air quality industries.
With four measurement modes and Bluetooth connectivity to iOS & Android apps, the X5-CMEX5 delivers advanced, accurate, and versatile moisture testing with seamless reporting integration.

Four Measurement Modes
1. Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Mode
- Provides instant, quantitative measurements of concrete moisture content, using Gravimetric testing as a baseline
- Delivers Carbide Method equivalent readings for concrete and cementitious substrates
- Supports comparative readings per ASTM F2659
2. Hygrometer Mode (built-in sensor)
- Measures Ambient Relative Humidity, Temperature, Dew Point, and Humidity Ratio (Mixing Ratio)
3. Equilibrium Relative Humidity Mode (with optional Hygro-i2®️ probes)
- Measures Equilibrium RH, Temperature, Dew Point, and Humidity Ratio in structural materials
- Supports in-situ and RH Hood testing methods (ASTM F2170, BS 8201, 8203, 5325)
- Probes can also be used for ambient RH testing in air spaces
4. PIN Meter Mode (with optional plug-in probes)
- Functions as a resistance-type pin meter
- Measures wood moisture content (%MC) with selectable species per international standards
- Provides Wood Moisture Equivalent (WME) readings for drywall and other materials

How It Works
The CMEX5 evaluates moisture by non-destructively measuring electrical impedance. Electrodes in the instrument’s base send a low-frequency signal into the material, with signal strength varying according to moisture content. The meter then converts this data into:
- Moisture content values for concrete slabs
- Comparative values for cementitious screeds
Results are displayed instantly on the large, backlit digital screen.
