With effective concrete floor coating removal the key is to removing it as effectively as possible without digging or gouging in the concrete surface ready for the next process. 

Depending on the thickness of you concrete pool coating will depend on the diamond grinding shoe or wheel required to remove it. Often when the coating is thicker than 3 - 4mm a PCD Diamond is used to rip and tear coating off the surface, and folowed by a 20 or 40 grit diamond grinding shoe.

In applications where a concrete coating is thinner or more of a painted on coating or product a softer bond diamond in a 16 - 20 grit is the answer for the inital pass.
