With concrete floor prep the lower grit diamonds tend to remove coatings, epoxy, sealer and adhesive quickly followed by higher grits to smooth out and refine the concrete floor surface. In concrete floor preparation the lower grits are used as they are faster and leave a good key for the adhesive or concrete floor coating that follows to be applied to.
