HOW TO DECIDE THE BEST FLOOR PROTECTION TO USE ON MY SITE?
When deciding on the best floor protection or temporary surface protection product to use on your jobsite there’s a few questions you need to consider, as there is some products better for long term requirements and others are more just once off or shorter term residential sites.
- How long will the floor need to be protection?
- What sort of traffic will be going over the floor?
- Do we need something for impact protection / heavy forklift traffic / or just foot traffic from contractors and trades
- Do we need impact protection on the floor? Ie, if someone drops their tools / hammer / nail gun will it damage the flooring surface.
- Does it need to be waterproof. Ie, when being used under a painting contractor, waterproofer, tiler or other trade that may be using glues, sealants, adhesive, paint or epoxy you will want to use a protection product that will provide some water resistance to the flooring surface.
WHAT IS THE BEST FLOOR PROTECTION FOR IMPACT AND HEAVY CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT ON SITE?
- MDF Board works great for impact protection as it’s thicker layer and will protect the surface underneath if a tool or equipment lands on it
- Often under MDF board or sheeting products such as foam, felt or polyweave are used as well
WHAT IS THE BEST FLOOR PROTECTION FOR DIRTY FOOTPRINTS IN REFURB AND CONSTRUCTION?
- The easiest way to control dirty footprints or boot marks onto new or existing floor coverings is by having a Sticky Mat door mat sheeting at the entry or exit points to the site.
- Sticky mat door mats help ensure any dirt , dust or debris from shoes and boots is collected before being carried in or around the site.
