The National 6280 Commander®️ is a powerful, self-propelled walk-behind floor scraper designed for fast and efficient removal of soft floor coverings and bonded materials.

Ideal for removing glued-down carpet, VCT, sheet vinyl, rubber tile, linoleum, indoor and outdoor sports surfaces, roofing materials and more, the 6280 combines hydraulic drive with National’s orbital cutting action to make demanding floor removal faster and easier on the operator.

Unlike conventional scraping action, the 6280’s orbital system rotates the cutting blade as it works, helping it cut through stubborn adhesives and flooring materials across a range of substrates. This cutting action also helps extend blade and machine life while reducing ongoing maintenance requirements.

Self-Propelled Performance

The hydraulic self-propelled drive provides both forward and reverse operation with variable speeds from 10 to 45 feet per minute. A manual throttle and speed control allows the operator to smoothly adjust travel speed to suit the material being removed and the conditions underfoot.

Industrial-grade siped drive wheels provide excellent traction on smooth and slippery surfaces, while adjustable wheel scrapers help prevent removed material from building up around the wheels during operation.

Adjustable Weight and Blade Pressure

Secure-mount sliding side weights allow the operator to adjust the machine’s weight distribution to suit the application. Position the weights forward to increase pressure at the cutting head, or slide them rearward to increase weight over the drive wheels for additional traction.

Combined with the orbital blade action, this gives the 6280 the versatility to tackle a wide range of floor coverings and removal conditions.

Designed for Operator Comfort

Six adjustable handle positions allow the 6280 to work underneath counters, benches and other confined areas while providing a comfortable operating position for different applications.

Ergonomically designed adjustable hand grips further improve operator control, while the handle can be collapsed to reduce the machine’s footprint during transport and storage.
